Opening Weekend Celebration



The inaugural Castleton Festival begins this weekend with performances of Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw and - in the comfort of the newly constructed Festival Tent - The Beggar's Opera.  On July 4th, you are invited to Castleton Farms for a FREE open house - music, food, fun and plenty of surprises.

Friday, July 3

Schedule of Events
11:30-4:30 (hourly, on the half-hour): Tours of the Manor House & Adjoining Grounds (meet at the Portico near the Café)
12:00 noon: Talk by artist Neil Rizos (Fair Haven Studio)
1:00: Concordia String Quartet (Café)
2:00: Live Music featuring Castleton Festival Artists
4:00: Pre-Performance Talk, The Turn of the Screw. WETA's David Ginder with stage director Will Kerley (Fair Haven Studio)
5:00: The Turn of the Screw, conducted by Lorin Maazel (Theatre House) (TICKETS REQUIRED)
9:00: Opening Celebration with entertainment by Kid Pan Alley Band (Festival Tent)
 
Café food service provided by Market Salamander, 11am-4:30p and 7pm-9pm
Ark work on display at The Theatre House, Manor House and Festival Tent
